Barbara E. Bailey - Obituary

arbara "Barb" Elaine Bailey, 76, a 12-year resident of the South River Landing community in Edgewater, MD, and previously of Damascus, MD, died at her home on May 19, 2023. Born January 31, 1947, in Washington, DC, she graduated from Wheaton High School. Barb worked for Montgomery County Public Schools for 42 years in various classroom and administrative positions and co-owned KBS Dolls. Barb was a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs and the Dollology Club of Washington. She enjoyed collecting antique and 1950’s dolls, doll repair and clothing. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood S. Johnson and Lorraine Johnson Wilkins; her stepfather, Franklin T. Wilkins; and two siblings, Steve Johnson, and Pat Cannedy. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Richard Bailey; one son, Matt (Deanna) Bailey of Edgewater, MD; two grandchildren, Tyler and Emilie Bailey; and seven siblings, John (Chris) Johnson of Mechanicsville, MD, Terry (Pat) Johnson of Falling Waters, WV, Terry (Rick) Sandy of Thurmont, MD, Deborah Sena of Las Vegas, NV, Debbie Twigg of Baltimore, MD, Mary Wilkins of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Richard (Judy) Wilkins of Montross, VA. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 1 at 1 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD.
