arbara Suzanne Burt, 73, a resident of Annapolis, passed away in the comfort of her home, on Saturday, March 26, 2022, surrounded by her family. Barbara was born on August 11, 1948 in Washington, DC., to the late Lyle and Dorothy Burt. Barbara attended the Kennedy Institute and worked at BWI Airport. Everybody wants to know what Happened to Barbara? We honestly don’t know what caused her death. The death certificate says Fibrosis of the lungs. But there was something else because the last 3 months she complained about her stomach and how it hurt. She was taken to every doctor under the sun. Several blood tests a CAT scan etc. She kept losing weight and got down to 40 pounds. Even though she was only 3’11” that weight is not sustainable for even someone her size. Because of her size and because of her lungs it was way too risky for any type of invasive procedure to find out the root of the pain in her stomach. The pain was getting worse and Children’s Tylenol was no longer working. So we called Hospice and they came out Thursday evening, March 24th. They agreed to start her on Morphine. That helped tremendously. Friday she ate all of her favorites. Banana, Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, peas, ice cream and of course our mom’s Cherry Delight. A family favorite. Wow things are looking up. Well, Saturday was a completely different story she didn’t want anything to eat, drank only to take meds. and slept most of the day. So, I called Hospice and they came immediately and they did what they do best and made her very comfortable. They said she was declining rapidly probably, 24-48 hours. Barbara couldn’t wait that long to get her angel wings so at 11:00 pm Saturday night with her sister, Nancy and her niece, Nancy each holding her hand and her sister Patti by her side she went home to be with Jesus. Her interests included puzzles, shopping and watching her favorite TV shows like I Love Lucy, Hazel, Dennis the Menace, My 3 Sons, McHale’s Navy, Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry and her soaps. And of course we can’t forget the Maryland Terrapins. She watched every game cheering them on. She was a hoot voicing her frustration and disappointment if a player missed a shot. One more thing, she always watched Church service every Sunday without fail. She loved God and God loved her. He’s got her now, healed and whole. God Bless you all for loving on my sister.!!! Barbara, we love you and you, our little angel, our little ray of sunshine, will be greatly missed here on earth. God made you special and you were. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Julie M. Burt, and her brother, Lyle W. Burt, Jr. Barbara is survived by her sisters, Patricia A. Burt of Odenton, MD and Nancy Rumple of Kannapolis, NC. Because of Barbara’s absolute dislike for funerals, driving through car washes, hospitals and ambulances, the family agreed to honor her wishes and decided to let her rest in peace with no services. Please take a moment and leave a condolence for Barbara's family by using the memories link on the left.
