B

arbara DiNenna Corboy, 84, a resident of Annapolis, MD and formerly of Davidsonville, MD, died on Monday, January 31 after suffering with dementia for several years. Born in 1937 to the late Philip and Amelia Pessagno Clements, Barbara was raised in Cheverly, MD and was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Washington, DC. She and her late husband, Charles DiNenna, founded an accounting firm and payroll service company in Prince Georges County, Maryland. With her infectious smile and gregarious personality, she was an active businesswoman who, in addition to the family businesses, served as Chair of the Prince Georges Hospital Foundation for ten years and served on bank boards and the board of Prince Georges Chamber of Commerce. While living in Davidsonville, Barbara kept horses while raising her three children. In 1997, Barbara met a widower, Tom Corboy, got married and moved to Annapolis. In addition to her husband, Tom, Barbara is survived by her children, Chuck and Tony DiNenna and Tina Jernigan,her brothers, John and James Clements, four stepchildren, seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with another on the way. Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Philip “Butch” Clements. Funeral service will be held at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday, February 4 at 4 pm, with attendance limited to family members only. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation to benefit the hospital’s Center for Nursing Excellence.
