Barbara Helms - Obituary

arbara Ann Thompson Helms, a longtime resident of Annapolis and Severna Park, MD, died on Monday, August 15, 2022. Born July 30, 1936, in Christiansburg, VA, to the late Lottie Thompson, she retired from the Annapolis location of Macy's following a 37-year career. Barbara was a longtime member of Cambria Baptist Church in Christiansburg, VA. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Helms, Sr., and a granddaughter, Erica Lynn Helms. Barbara is survived by two children, James (Sherry Fox) Curtis Helms, Jr. of Englewood, CO, and Debra (Craig) Helms Engler of Arnold, MD; three grandchildren, James Curtis Helms, III, Christopher James Engler, and Samantha Mae Simmons; and five great-grandchildren.
