arbara Bell Magrogan, 88, of Fort Myers, FL, died peacefully on January 26 at her daughter’s home in Catonsville surrounded by loving family. Born December 29, 1925, in London, England, to the late Harold and Violet Jenn, Barbara grew up in London. She lived there until she came to America in May 1945, to meet the family of her late husband, Sgt. Richard M. Bell, who had been killed in action in February 1945. Barbara later married Mr. Howard F. Warner of Baltimore, with whom she had three children during their 21year marriage before his death in 1967. In August 1970 she married Col. Francis G. Magrogan of Baltimore and was happily married for 37 years until his death in 2007. Barbara co-owned and operated Key Press, Inc. in Arbutus, Maryland. She was an administrative and surgical assistant to Dr. William Dvorine. In the 1970s she owned and operated Seashore Properties in Ocean City, Maryland. Barbara enjoyed the camaraderie of British friends as an active member of the Transatlantic Bride’s and Parents Association. She enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting and designing sewing patterns. A gourmet cook, Barbara frequently hosted family and friends. Later in life, she spent many hours playing golf at Eisenhower and Walden Golf Courses in Maryland and at the Heritage Palms Golf and Country Club in Florida. Throughout her life, Barbara enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. In addition to her parents, her brother, Derrick Jenn, preceded Barbara in death. She is survived by her children, Myrle H. Combs, Howard D. Warner and Gregory S. Magrogan, all of Catonsville, Denise P. Warner and her husband, Bruce, of Woodbridge, VA and Tracy W. Greenfield and her husband, Robert, of Annapolis; five loving grandchildren, Barbara D. Connors, Daniel J. Warner, M.D., Robert M., John W. and Matthew M. Greenfield and two great-granddaughters, Samantha L. Connors and Abigail R. Warner. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1800 Seton Drive in Crofton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
