Barbara White - Obituary

arbara Miller White, 78, of Arnold, MD, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at her residence. She was born August 30, 1937 in Annapolis, MD to the late Ernest and Gertrude Miller. On December 29, 1956 she married Owen K. White at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and worked as a telephone operator at C&P prior to raising her family. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed baking and cooking. Barbara spent nearly 40 years with friends on her bowling league. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, who died May 1999; and a daughter, Cheryl Schubert. Barbara is survived by her children: Mark S. (Michele) White of Odenton, MD, Dawn D. (Raymond) Poteet of Ocean City, MD, Darren G. White of Annapolis, MD and Chad G. (Nicole) White of Annapolis, MD; her siblings: Thomas J. and Robert A. Miller, both of Rhodesdale, MD, Ernest J. Miller Jr. of Ocean City, MD, Paul F. Miller of Destin, FL and Patricia A. Hall of Lothian, MD; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Barbara’s Life Celebration on Friday, September 25, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomon's Island Road, Edgewater, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26, at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery.
