arbara Ann Wigginton, a 48-year resident of College Park, MD, died of a stroke, on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, MD.
Born May 16, 1940, in Cumberland, MD, she was a devoted homemaker most of her life. Barbara was a member of Chesapeake Christian Fellowship in Davidsonville, MD. Barbara enjoyed cooking, taking care of her home, summers by her pool, attending church and Redskins games and watching "her stories."
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Twila Raupach; and two siblings, John Raupach and Jo Ellen Knetzer.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 50-years, James "Jim" Wigginton; three children, Bryan Crymes and his wife, Marci, Jimmy Wigginton and his wife, Cindy and John Wigginton; a stepdaughter, Lori Wigginton; one sister, Patricia Allison; 15 grandchildren, Joey Weatherford, Danielle Krug, Amber Dawn Thacker, Chelsey Garner, Amber Nicole Ray, Katie Prentice, Kristi Ford, Ryan, Nick, Jared and Jordan Crymes and Justin, John, Brandi and Jessa Wigginton; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to celebrate Barbara's life at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 1:00 P.M. until her funeral service begins at 3:00 P.M. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
