artolomeo "Bart" Carrino, 79, a resident of Edgewater for 25 years, died of complications from heart failure May 31 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a long illness.
Mr. Carrino was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Newark, N.J., to the late Marie Balolino and Anthony Carrino and attended high school.
He worked for Dunbar Armored Co. in Bowie for 31 years as a driver, vault personnel and manager, and operations and branch manager.
He served in the Army at the end of World War II.
He attended Parkwood United Methodist Church.
Mr. Carrino was extremely proud of his sons and grandchildren, and loved to garden with his wife.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lena Ventolo and Mary Verducci.
Survivors include his wife of over 20 years, Virginia Carrino; his former wife, Phyllis DiSantis; three sons, Anthony Carrino of Valrico, Fla., Thomas Carrino of Greeneville, Tenn., and Peter Carrino of Waldorf; three sisters, Eleanor Ventolo of Newark, Tessie Ventolo of Jonesburg, N.J., and Josephine Radice of Palm Harbor, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at Parkwood United Methodist Church, 35 Mayo Road in Edgewater. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. Internment will be private. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home.
