ernard A. Carpenter, Jr., ”Bernie”, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday, January 17 at Ginger Cove in Annapolis with his wife, Barbara, at his bedside. Prior to retirement, Bernie was the Executive Director of University Physicians Inc. and Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. God blessed him with an exceptional life, a wonderful family, and many special friends. In addition to his devoted wife of 58 years, he is survived by his two loving sons, Brian Carpenter and his wife Laura, and Steve Carpenter and his wife Laura; seven grandchildren, Scott, Will, Brooks, Andrew, Jenna, Noelle, and Caroline Carpenter; and a sister, Sharon Lewis. There will be a celebration of his life at a future date. Memorial donations may be made in Bernie's name to the Foundation at Ginger Cove or to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
