ernard Larry Limerick, Sr. Bernard “Bernie” or “Bobby” Limerick, Sr.., an 18 year resident of Edgewater and previously of Lanham, Maryland died on December 18, 2008 peacefully at his home with his family by his side. He was 78. Born August 16, 1930 to Harry W. and Agnes G. Limerick, Sr. on Capitol Hill in Southeast Washington, D.C. Bernie retired from Arundel Gas and Water Company in Edgewater. He was a Golden Glove boxer, boxing at the Marine Corps Barracks in Washington, D.C. In his youth, he was an alter boy for St. Dominics Catholic Church in Washington, D.C. Bernie enjoyed fishing, camping, billiards, and spending time with his family. Bernie is survived by his wife Frances Limerick, whom he married on April 5, 1957, his sons, Bernard L. Limerick, Jr. and David Limerick, both of Edgewater, MD, Willard Limerick of Oregon, and Brian Limerick of Lusby, MD, and his daughters, Tammy Locklair and Shelley Tyler, both of Edgewater, MD, Marie Huston of Shady Side, MD and Annie Givins of Edgewater, MD. Bernie is also survived by his sisters Nancy McNabb and Shirley Kidd, both of Lusby, MD and Carolyn Hall of Lothian. He was predeceased by his brother Harry Willard Limerick, Jr., a Korean War Veteran. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Bernie's Life Celebration on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 2pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd. Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment private.
