Bernard Tippett - Obituary

ernard Wesley Tippett Sr., 79, a 50-year resident of Upper Marlboro, died September 19 at the Crofton Convalescent Center following a short illness. Born May 15, 1931, in Cheverly, Bernard was a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and playing bluegrass music. Bernard is survived by two sons, Bernard W. Tippett Jr. of Laurel and Steve Tippett of Riverdale; two daughters, Joyce A. Zeck of Durham, N.C. and Jeanne M. Bratvoids of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and three sisters, Mary Tippett of Edgewater, Helen Phillips of Forestville and Elizabeth Tucker of Upper Marlboro. Friends and family are invited to Bernard’s Life Celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 24 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 25. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
