Betty A. Cordovilla - Obituary

etty Ann Cordovilla, age 73 and a 20 year resident of Edgewater, died October 26, 2022 of natural causes under the care of Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena. She was born May 7, 1949 and graduated from Annapolis Senior High School. She worked as a case worker for the State of Maryland Department of Social Services before retiring as head of the fraud department. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Annapolis and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Cordovilla; her children, Lisa McAdams (Drakopulos) of Annapolis, George Drakopulos of Edgewater, James Michael Cordovilla of Salisbury, Aleta Gilliam (Cordovilla) of Williamston, NC and Lisa Cannon (Cordovilla) of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Paige McAdams, Kerri Jackson, Melinda Downing, Zachary Cordovilla, Samantha Cordovilla and Alexis Gilliam; her great grandchildren, Madelyn and Makenzie Jackson and Carsen Cordovilla; her sister, Judy Myers of Annapolis; her nephew, Matt Myers and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Gladys Foust; a brother, Thomas Foust; a grandson, Sean Cordovilla and a nephew, Brian Myers. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, November 5 from 11 am to 12 noon, followed by a memorial service at noon, at the Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Betty’s name, may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
