etty May Meyers Feerrar, 87, a three year resident of Lothian and formerly of Millsboro, DE, died at home October 30 of natural causes. Born on April 29, 1926 to the late Samuel H. and Alta M. Meyers in Mountain Lake Park, Betty was a 1944 graduate of Oakland High School in Oakland. She worked for the Washington Navy Yard from 1944 to 1945 typing war orders during World War II, then worked for the US Treasury Department in Washington, DC from 1960-1962. Betty was a member of East Gate Presbyterian Church in Millsboro, DE and then attended Riva Trace Baptist Church in Davidsonville. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, sewing and spending time with her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Harold P. Feerrar. Betty is survived by two sons, Gary (Sharon) Feerrar of Davidsonville, David (Connie) Feerrar of Lothian; two daughters, Sherrie (Alfred) Speakes of Millsboro, DE and Tracie (Richard) Riley of Harwood; two brothers, Jerry (Carolyn) Meyers and Dennis (Barbara) Meyers, both of Oakland. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Family will receive visitors from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, at Riva Trace Baptist Church, 475 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Interment is private.
