etty Anderson Fugitt, of Chester and previously of Heritage Harbor and Cheverly, died peacefully at Anne Arundel Medical Center on January 1, 2014. She was 90.
Born March 30, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN, she was a homemaker and military wife and enjoyed living in Japan, France and Seneca, NY. She was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Annapolis and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Howard D. Fugitt, Sr. on April 28, 2004 and a sister, Barbara Osbeck.
Betty is survived by four children, Diane Peake (Bill) of Chester, Howard Fugitt, Jr. of Cheverly, and Andrew (Diane Sekula) and John Fugitt, all of Annapolis; two grandchildren, Lennon Peake (Jennifer) of Ellicott City and Justin Peake (Emily) of Annapolis; and 3 great-grandchildren, Kyla, Brady and Henry Peake.
Friends are invited to a celebration of Betty's life on Thursday, January 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, where a memorial service will be held on Friday, January 10 at 10am. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD 21122 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
