Betty Lee Georgeson - Obituary

etty Lee Georgeson, a resident of Friends House Retirement Community in Sandy Spring, MD and previously of Leisure World in Silver Spring, MD, died on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, following a five-year illness. She was 85. Born June 22, 1931, in Washington, D.C. to the late Harold C. and Dommer E. Huffman, she graduated from Theodore Roosevelt Senior High School in Washington, D.C. Betty was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Annapolis, MD and the Daughters of Penelope Arion, Chapter No. 298 in Silver Spring, MD. Betty enjoyed painting, decorating and spending time with her family. She was the loving wife of 53-years to the late James Georgeson, Sr.; beloved mother of James Georgeson, Jr. of Silver Spring, MD, Sharon Koutroumpis and her husband, George of Annapolis, MD and the late William Georgeson; sister of the late Harold Huffman and Gladys Muse; devoted grandmother of Evan (Catherine), Christopher (Stephanie) ,George, Jr. and Alexis Koutroumpis and Nicole (Andrew) Rumpf. Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Sunday, October 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Rd., Annapolis, MD at 11 a.m. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
