Betty Moore - Obituary

etty M. Moore, 92, of Herndon, VA. former long time resident of Temple Hills, MD, passed away on August 3, 2013 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Leesburg, VA. Betty was born on September 14, 1920 in Washington DC to Samuel B. and Mytrle R. Bagnam. She lived at 912 D Street, SW with her three sisters the late Lorraine (Haske), Helen (Werner) and Ilah (Parker) until she was married on February 26, 1944 to Charles W. Moore. Their marriage lasted 61 years until Charles passed away on October 15, 2005. She retired from the Bureau of Mines, U.S. Dept. of Interior in 1975 after 30 years of service. She is survived by her son, Wesley C. (Eileen) Moore, granddaughters Brigid Elizabeth (Sharam) Tayebi and Kathleen Alana (Christian) Malpeli along with six great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to Betty's Life Celebration on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 11am until time of services at 12 Noon at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. Entombment at Washington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Betty requested that donations be made to the Humane Society of Washington, DC and to the Fisher House Foundation.
