Betty Louise Nhare - Obituary

etty Louise Nhare, 89, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2021 with her family by her side. Born on December 5, 1931 in Washington, DC., she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee C. Nhare, her father Millard Clyde Haliday, her mother Alta Belle Haliday and her brother Malcom Haliday. She is survived by three children, John David Nhare, Terri Lee Nhare-Russell, and Clyde Robert Nhare and his wife Robin L. Nhare. Betty is also survived by six grandchildren, Brandi Sullivan and her husband Jason, Shannon Jones and her husband Ross, Kelly Nhare, Justin Nhare, Megan Nhare and Jake Russell; and ten great-grandchildren, Madison, Anthony, Mikayla, Aubrey, Kayden, Jaxon, Westin, Maci, Kameron and Max. Betty loved spending time with her family and loved all dogs, especially her own. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines's Arundelair Barbershop Chorus. She was also a member of several barbershop quartets and enjoyed performing with both the chorus and quartets at various shows and events. Betty also enjoyed watching Redskins football-- her favorite player was Pat Fischer. She also tuned in to as many Nationals baseball games as possible, paying particular attention to her favorite players, Max Scherzer and Michael A. Taylor. Betty worked as a nurses aide in various Maryland nursing homes including Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center. She retired as a secretary at Annapolis Dialysis several years ago. Relatives and friends may call at the Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, on Tuesday, August 10, from 11 AM-12 noon, followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her honor and memory be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, P.O.
