Betty Lucille Trussell - Obituary

etty Lucille Trussell, 84, an 8-year resident of Bridgeville, DE, and formerly of Mitchellville, MD, passed away on August 16, 2024 at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. She was born on April 18, 1940 as the youngest child to the late Frederick H. and Mildred Cook in Washington, DC. In her professional career, she held positions at Citizens National Bank, Prince George’s County Courthouse, and as a dental assistant. Betty was a member of Union Methodist Church in Bridgeville, DE and formerly of Davidsonville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and occasionally trying her luck at the Harrington Casino in Delaware. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John W. Trussell, of Bridgeville, DE; her daughters, Kelli Underwood (John) of Clarksville, MD and Kerri Moran (Jeffrey) of Bowie, MD; and four grandchildren, Joseph and Jeffrey Moran and John and James Underwood. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Betty’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, August 27 from 11am until her funeral service begins at 12pm. A graveside service will be held at Maryland National Memorial, 13300 Baltimore Ave., Laurel, MD on Wednesday, August 28 at 11 am.
