Beverly "Bev" Anne Hiltabidle - Obituary

Beverly Anne (Bradshaw) Hiltabidle July 17, 1935 - January 22, 2024 Annapolis, Maryland

In loving memory of Beverly Anne (Bradshaw) Hiltabidle, who’s warmth and kindness touch so many departed this world on January 22, 2024 at age 88 leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, laughter and cherished memories with family and friends. Beverly (Bradshaw) Hiltabidle was born in Washington, D.C. on July 17, 1935. The family lived on Abbey Place Northeast and then shortly, moved to Virginia where she grew up in the Arlington, Virginia area and lived her entire life in the D.M.V area. Beverly lived a rich life and took greatest joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, sisters, extended family, and life-long friends. She always said the happiest days of her life were the years living on Riggs Avenue in Olde Severna Park and the times spent at Hatton Memorial Beach on the Severn River. Being a part of the Severn River Swimming Association and coaching the Olde Severna Park swim team were her summer favorites. But it was her Severna Park friends that were most cherished. Those friendships have extended well over 5 decades and are commonly known as the “YaYa’s” who met regularly. Beverly enjoyed a long and rewarding career working for the Maryland State Senate, General Assembly most recently as the Executive Assistant to the Chairman with the Budget and Tax Committee. She loved the hustle of session and all the interesting politics that went along with the job. She enjoyed helping constituents with whatever problems they had. Beverly was kind and friendly to everyone she encountered. What she enjoyed most was the relationships she formed in her 47 years of service. In March 2022, Beverly was awarded the State Senate of Maryland, First Citizen Award in recognition of her distinguished service to the people of the State of Maryland. Beverly is survived by her children, Charles E. (Cathy) Hiltabidle, Jr., Walter O. (Heidi Lutzen) Hiltabidle, Lynn H. (Peter) Butler, and David L. Hiltabidle; three grandchildren, Jack Hiltabidle, Greer Hiltabidle, and Charlie Butler; two sisters, Doris Woisard and Lynn (Roy) O’Connor; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Bradshaw. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Doris Bradshaw; a brother, Owen Bradshaw; a brother-in-law Edwin L. Woisard; and her former husband, Charles E. Hiltabidle. A memorial service will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD, on Saturday, March 2 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in memory of Beverly Hiltabidle to the Maryland Food Bank, 2200 Halethorpe Farms Road, Baltimore, MD 21227 Condolences may be made by using the Memories tab on this page.
