Beverly Smith - Obituary

everly Hays Smith, a former forty-one year resident of Annapolis, MD and currently of Glen Mills, PA, died on Saturday, November 12 in Media, PA. She was 85. Born March 15, 1931, in Beaver Falls, PA, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey B. Hays of Leola, PA, Beverly graduated from Kutztown State College in 1953 with a B. S. Degree in Art Education and completed graduate classes at Pennsylvania University. She taught Art Education at East Donegal High School, Lancaster, PA. Upon leaving Lancaster County, she was the Art Education Department Head for Freehold Regional High School in NJ. Beverly was the beloved wife of 12 years to the late Wendell S. Smith; mother of Bradley H. Smith and his wife, Dawn of Ellicott City, MD, Brian G. Smith and his wife, Cathy of Crofton, MD and Melissa S. Scheidt and her husband, Jeff of Lincoln University, PA; grandmother of Ashley and Jennifer Smith of Crofton, MD, Taylor and Logan Smith of Ellicott City, MD and Matthew and Aaron Scheidt of Lincoln University, PA; sister of Robert A. Hays of New Hampshire. Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Monday, November 21, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. until Beverly's funeral service begins at 11:30 a.m. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
