Bill Harrell - Obituary

ill Harrell, age 74, a resident of Davidsonville, MD for 38 years, died on June 24, 2009 at his residence of natural causes. Born on September 14, 1934 in Marion, VA Bill was a graduate of the University of MD who worked as a musician his entire life. He served in the US Army from 1957-60. In 2008 Bill was inducted into the Bluegrass Music Hall of Honor. He was a member of Chesapeake Christian Fellowship in Davidsonville and loved being with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed writing songs, travelling, playing Scrabble and doing crossword puzzles. He was the beloved husband of the late Ellen Ann Harrell. They were married on August 12, 1959 and she died on December 14, 1982. Father of Mitch Harrell of Davidsonville, MD, John Harrell of Chicago, IL and Jeanie Harrell of Edgewater, MD, he was also survived by 7 grandchildren. Friends may call at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship, 377 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00pm where services will be held on Monday, June 29 at 10:00am.
