Blanche Marie Hershberger - Obituary

lanche Marie Hershberger (Crosby), age 93, of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Born on October 16, 1932, in Lakeland, Georgia, Blanche was the daughter of Leroy and Avie Crosby. She worked as a seamstress in her early years. Later, she became a realtor. Above all else, Blanche devoted herself to her family. Blanche is survived by her two daughters, Deborah (Scott) Billings and Ruth Kuhn; her sister, Dorothy Bracewell; her beloved grandchildren, William (Tammy) Erbe, Tyler (Sierra) Billings, Emily Billings, Chad (Weston) Billings, and Evan Billings; and her great-grandchildren, Brianna Erbe, Liam Erbe, Camila Billings, and Carmen Billings. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William Lee Hershberger; her brothers, Arthur Lee Crosby, Thomas Crosby, and David Crosby; and her granddaughter, Tricia Erbe. Blanche was a woman of many talents and interests. She mastered anything she set her mind to, including gardening, quilting, golf, bowling, painting, and baking. She was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens and rarely missed a game. Her favorite pastime, however, was cooking for her family. She was an amazing cook, and birthday dinners and holiday gatherings will never be the same without her. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Blanche's life on Monday, June 22, from 2:30 pm until her memorial service begins at 4 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment private. A reception will follow at Adams Taphouse Grille in Edgewater. The family welcomes all who knew Blanche to attend and share their favorite memories of her.
