lanche T. Wallace, a 7-year resident of Davidsonville, MD and previously of Rehoboth Beach, DE and Washington, D.C., died Monday, April 18, 2011, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born July 21, 1925 in Elizabethton, TN to the late Charles S. and Stella Mae Roberson. After moving to Maryland, her parents helped found the First Baptist Church of Suitland. Blanche converted to the Catholic faith within weeks of her death, after faithfully attending Mass for more than 27 years. Blanche and her late husband, Boyce, were in the restaurant business for many years—The Post House and Sir Boyce’s Pub in Washington, DC and Sir Boyce’s Pub in Rehoboth Beach, DE were some of the restaurants that they previously owned. Blanche loved all sports, especially football. She was an avid Redskins fan and held season tickets since 1969. She was a member of the South County Senior Center, where she took craft and line dancing classes. She had many friends there. She also enjoyed playing poker, reading books, and spending time with her family. Blanche was predeceased by her husband, Boyce Wallace, who died in 1987 and her son, Charles Carlock, who died in 1985. Her brother, Earl Roberson passed away in January 2011. She is survived by her children Blanche “Holly” (Vincent) Cook of Lusby, MD, Linda (Ronald) Lagana of Davidsonville, MD, Deborah (Hank) Kinnaman of Owings, MD, and Robert (Mary) Carlock of Waldorf, MD; her step-son Boyce F.(Elaine) Wallace of St. Augusta, Florida. She is also survived by her 101-year-old sister, Ada Johnson, of Elizabethton, TN and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren,step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to Blanche’s Life Celebration on Monday, April 25 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD 21035. Interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
