obbie K. Hawkins, 79, of Churchton and formerly of Edgewater, died July 24 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. The cause of death is unavailable.
Mrs. Hawkins was born May 7, 1928, in Star City, Ark. She was presently employed as a cashier at Deale Food Rite IGA. She retired in 1982 as a manager from Murray's Steaks in Annapolis.
She was a member of the Elks and enjoyed bowling and following the Washington Redskins.
Her husband, Edward A. Hawkins Sr., died Oct. 19, 1987.
Surviving are three sons, Edward A. Hawkins Jr. of Baltimore, Greg Hill of Huntingtown and Jamie Peterson of Edgewater; two daughters, Deni Hawkins of Denver, Colo., and Judith Sollenberger of Edgewater; one brother, James Kimbrell of Florida; two sisters, Joanne Kimbrell of Little Rock, Ark., and Florine Kimbrell of Malvern, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, where a memorial service will follow. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
