Bonnie Lynn Klaus - Obituary

onnie Lynn Johnson Klaus of Edgewater, MD passed away on August 23, 2020. She was 79 years old. Born in Easton, MD on June 22, 1941 to Betty Stauffer Johnson and James Davis Johnson Jr., Bonnie graduated from Federalsburg High School in 1959. She attended the University of Maryland after a brief career with the CIA in Arlington, VA. She married Russel Carl Klaus in 1963. Bonnie is survived by her son, Russel Carl Klaus, Jr. and two grandsons, Ryan and Jack Klaus, all of Edgewater. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Johnson Smith of Denver, CO. Bonnie was preceded in death in 2015 by her husband of 51 years, Russel Carl Klaus. Bonnie was a beautiful, kind, supportive and nurturing human being who loved and devoted herself to her family and friends. She adored her son, Russ, Jr. (known as “Young Russ”) and doted on her two grandsons, Ryan and Jack. She loved being a mom and homemaker, and enjoyed gardening, movies and fixing her grandsons’ favorite dishes. Also near and dear to her heart were her dogs, the Olivers, Griff and Gus. Bonnie was loved by all who knew her. Bonnie and her husband, Russ will be buried together at a future date at the Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Bonnie’s memory to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
