Brandon James Embrey, of Cambridge, Md., died suddenly in an automobile accident on Sunday, October 20, 2024. He was 24-years old. Brandon attended Mayo Elementary School, Central Middle School, and South River High School. After earning his high school degree, Brandon became a jack- of-all-trades in various careers. Most recently Brandon was an assistant operations manager for Verizon Wireless Zone in Easton, Md. Brandon embraced life, loved children and animals, idolized his family, and worshipped God. He cherished time with family and friends and enjoyed online video gaming and NFL football. Brandon was a standout multisport athlete excelling in baseball, basketball, soccer, and football but had a special love and talent for lacrosse. Recently, Brandon enjoyed following his nephews’ high school lacrosse and football games. He is a past member of Chesapeake Christian Fellowship in Davidsonville, Md. and current member of the First Assembly of God church in Alexandria, Va. He is survived by his parents Debra Burns (David) and Jeff Embrey (Socorro); siblings Jennifer Metz (Phil), Craig Shanahan (Liz), Christina Rafiq (John), Jahntiel Puerta, Selynne Puerta, and Adrienne Burns; uncle and aunts James Embrey, Jr. (“Luette”), Vonnie Embrey (Cheryl), Lawrence “Bill” Embrey (Jane), Val Embrey (Stephanie), Vicki Creutzer (Christian), Jodi Grahne (Mark), Joan Shores (Rick), Mark Richardson, and Diana Gleysteen (Dirk). He enjoyed a special relationship with his fraternal grandmother Doris “Dodi” Embrey. Brandon adored children and spoiled his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Brandon is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents John and Diana Richardson; uncles Ric and Damian Richardson; and his fraternal grandfather James “Bud” Embrey. A Celebration of Life will be held at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, Md on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00pm with a religious ceremony officiated by Lead Pastor Wes Johnson of First Assembly of God church from 4:00-5:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, you can honor Brandon’s life by donating to the Dorchester County Humane Society.
