Brian Lee Cockrell - Obituary

rian Lee Cockrell, “Big Dog”, 60, a 29-year resident of Shady Side and previously of Hyattsville, MD passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness. Brian was born on April 16, 1963, in Silver Spring, MD to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Cockrell. He proudly served his country in the US Army. Brian was a carpenter whose interests included hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his half-brothers, Rocky and Thomas Cockrell. Brian is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Jamie Zugay, his daughter, Megan Cockrell of Churchton, siblings; George Cockrell of MD and Bonnie Powers of Arizona and his half-siblings, Greg Marzec of MD, Darlene Strohecker of MD and Sonya Faulconer of MD.
