rother Jude J. Locchetto, OP, a faithful Catholic Brother in the Dominican Order for over 60 years died peacefully in the early morning of Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Carroll Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington, DC. He was born on December 29, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of Antonio and Assunta Locchetto. He attended Vera Junior High and Bak Vocational, Philadelphia. He entered the Dominican Order in 1953 and made his solemn profession at Sacred Heart Priory, Jersey City, New Jersey on October 8, 1958. He was in charge of the Sacred Heart Priory kitchen for over 47 years. He ministered at St. Rose Church, Springfield, Kentucky, St. Joseph Church, Somerset, OH, Sacred Heart, Jersey City, New Jersey and the Dominican House of Studies, Washington, DC and spent his last few years at St. Dominic’s Priory. He is survived by his sister, Annamarie Delauro and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Reception of Brother Lochetto will take place at 4 p.m. and Office for the Dead will take place at at 7 p.m. at Saint Dominic Church, 630 E Street SW, Washington, DC, on Friday, October 31 where Mass of Christian Burial, will be offered at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 1. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Assisted Living Center at St. Dominic, 630 E Street SW, Washington, DC 20024
