Bruce J. Collins - Obituary

ruce John Collins, 67, a 42-year resident of Lothian, MD, died at his home on February 3, 2022. Born in Corpus Christi, TX on May 21, 1954 to the late Charles Gilbert Collins and Donna Jane Sutton, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. Bruce attended Prince George’s Community College and was employed as an HVAC mechanic for the United States Postal Service. As someone who couldn't sit still, he enjoyed going to Atlantic City with his wife, swimming, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hope Collins. Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Sharon Collins; three daughters, Christina Collins of Lothian, MD, Amber Austin of Pasadena, MD, and Cassandra Silva of Annapolis, MD; two brothers, Charles Robert Collins of Williston, FL and Clifford Collins of Chuluota, FL; and five grandchildren, Kenneth Austin, Jr., Madison Collins of Lothian, MD, Zachary Austin, Keira Silva, and Amelia Austin. Friends are invited to celebrate Bruce’s life on Wednesday, February 9 from 6 to 8pm at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD, where a service will held on Thursday, February 10 at 2 pm.
