ryan Keith Slaughenhoupt, 50, of Deale, Maryland, passed away on October 8, 2025. He was born on October 26, 1974 in Bethesda, Maryland. After graduating from high school, Bryan went on to get his Masters Degree in Business Administration at the University of Maryland. He spent most of his career working as Vice President of Victor Stanley Inc. He was an avid inventor and technology architect. Over the course of his 28-year career, he held multiple patents and awards for his designs and solutions. Bryan had a deep love for music that spanned throughout his life. He was a talented guitarist and could learn to play any instrument. He received his first guitar as a gift from his parents when he was a teenager. Throughout his teenage years, he was in several bands and would often have jam sessions with his friends. He was an avid reader and incredibly talented artist who loved to draw and would often create art with his daughters. He was always creating and one of his fondest memories of his childhood was building a toy race car with his grandfather. He also loved skateboarding in his youth and had many fond memories of those years with friends in his hometown of Butler, Pennsylvania. He’s loved hats since the age of 2 and was always known to be sporting one. He liked exploring his spirituality and enjoyed meditating, reading about Buddhism, and had recently made a trip to a monastery in New York as well. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors with his beloved dog, Kiwi, and going for hikes. He loved animals and deeply cared about his pets that had passed on; his cat Clyde and his dogs Bella and Lola. Bryan is survived by his two loving daughters, Sophia and Emma Slaughenhoupt; his beloved parents, Donald and Sandra Doerr; sister, Stacey (Erik) Snyder; and his brother Timothy (Sarah) Doerr. He also leaves behind several aunts and uncles, 4 nephews, one niece and a bouquet of cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Corwyn Keith “Buck” and Betty Jane Cadwallader. Friends are invited to celebrate Bryan’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road Edgewater, MD on Saturday, November 15 from 3 PM until the start of his memorial service at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Maryland SPCA in Bryan’s honor.
