C

arl A. Deeb, 82, of Fort Washington, Maryland peacefully passed away on August 13, 2021, at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center. Carl was born in Fall River, MA on June 13, 1939, to Augustine Deeb and Marie Anne Goulet. He attended Northeastern University where he joined ROTC and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He also attended University of Maryland where he obtained his Master of Education. He proudly served active duty for the United States Army from 1963 to 1965 as 1st Lieutenant. Carl was very dedicated to working. He worked as a teacher for over 40 years for Prince Georges County public schools and at St. Mary’s School of Piscataway. Carl believed in the education of the entire person, body, mind, and spirit. He applied unconventional methods of teaching into the classroom to include pottery, woodworking, bee keeping, chess, typing, investing, principles of finance and morality. He treated each student as if they were one of his own. Each child touched his heart, and he carried his students with him all these years. Carl also retired from Citizens Bank of Maryland and worked at Rosecroft Raceway. He was a devoted family man and friend. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and stories. He made sure he marked every birthday, holiday, and occasion with a personal card and two-dollar bill, even during his most difficult days. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; Augustine Deeb and Marie Anne Goulet; step father, Bernard Goulet; grandchild, Caleb Burge. Carl is survived by wife of 56 years, Sara E. (Bates); son, John Deeb and his wife Shari; daughter, Anne McKissick and her husband Eric; son, David Deeb and his wife Melissa; daughter Mary Deeb; daughter, Nancy Chaves and her husband Christian; daughter, Beth Riggs and her husband, Farron; daughter, Susan Burge and her husband Brent; grandchildren, Ashley Deeb, Alanna Deeb, Edward Gillison Jr., Ciara White and her wife, Tiana, Sara McKissick, Cajetan Deeb, Justin Deeb, Sophia Deeb, Grayson Deeb, John-Paul Deeb, Catalina Chaves, Sebastian Chaves, Baylor Burge, Max Riggs, Emma Burge; great grandchildren, Sa’Mari McGinnie, Cheyanne Deeb. A memorial service will be held at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD on Thursday, August 19 at 11 AM. Inurnment will be in Fall River, MA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund or Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation Safety is top priority for the Deeb Family.
