Carmen Resurreccion - Obituary

C

armen Resurreccion (née DeSales) of Fort Washington, Maryland, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 22, 2021, at the age of 80 years old. Beloved daughter of the late Trinidad Delfin (née DeSales) and the late Isaac DeSales. Treasured widow of Alberto Resurreccion. Devoted mother of Anthony (Amy), and Maricar Resurreccion. Loving brothers and sisters of Trinidad Santiago, and Virginia dela Cena. Her Grandchildren Antonio Woodruff, Prince Woodruff and Daija Resurreccion. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Antonio (Tj), Noah, Gabriella, Israel, Autumn, and Wynter-Rose, and several loving godchildren, nieces, and nephews. Carmen worked for many years as a Registered Nurse, interning in the Philippines, working in Cook County hospital, Chicago, Philadelphia hospital, the Nursery for Greater Southeast, and Supervisor for Hadley Hospital Washington DC and retiring as Director of Infection Control for Fort Washington Hospital, Maryland. She married her sweetheart Alberto Resurreccion (Chuck) in 1966. She proceeded to spend the next short 29 years with Chuck (1995), they enjoyed dancing, throwing parties, outings with friends and movies. Family meant everything to Carmen. She devoted her life serving God and the Catholic community, her husband, and children. She was always there for them no matter the difficulties, knowing God would make a way. She was always supportive of her families endeavors. Carmen’s FAITH: she was their rock, the glue that kept families together regardless the distance from the Philippines to the States (MD, NJ, PA, VA, NC, SC, IN, TX, CA and FL). She was so generous, kind and giving. She was the gateway for so many families equivalent to the stars in the sky, getting them started with their own families, careers, and their citizenships. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched along the way.
