C

arol Jean Dwight Manion, 69, a 27-year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Lanham, MD died April 30, 2013 at her home after a 16 year battle with breast cancer. Born December 27, 1943 in Bells Landing, PA, to the late Earl and Nell Hullihan, she graduated from Curwensville High School in 1961 and from Southeastern University with an Accounting and Finance degree. Carol was employed as a finance manager at Lockheed Martin until her retirement. She also worked with the U.S.O. and Bob Hope, visiting the Seychelles islands, Australia and Europe. Carol was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Annapolis, the Gourmet Club, Gardening Club of Annapolis, Meals on Wheels, Anne Arundel Medical Center Auxiliary and the Bridge Club in Stewart, FL. Mrs. Manion enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Timothy B. Dwight, who died in 1978; and a brother, Thomas Hullihan. Carol is survived by her husband, Martin F. Manion; two sons, Eric Dwight of Annapolis, MD and Martin Manion, Jr. of Front Royal, VA; three daughters, Cynthia Manion of Annapolis, MD, Christina Anderson of Dublin, OH and Carolyn Ammons of Alexandria, VA; three brothers, Dan and Ed Hullihan of Curwensville, PA and Jim Hullihan of St. Charles, MO; two sisters, Sally Daisher of Curwensville, PA and Susan Nicholson of Detroit, MI; and five grandchildren, Collin Fishman of Annapolis, MD, Tyler, Ryland and Kylee Ammons of Alexandra, VA and Hunter Belle Manion of Front Royal, VA. Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Saturday, May 4 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N Bestgate Rd Annapolis, MD on Monday, May 6 at 10:30am. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
