Carol Ann Hodges - Obituary

arol Ann Hodges, 59, and a 23 year resident of Churchton and previously of Harwood, died peacefully of cancer April 29, 2023 with her family by her side. Born in Cheverly on August 14, 1963, she was a 1981 graduate of Frederick Douglass High School. She worked for many years as an accounting clerk for Prince Georges County Schools and was a member of Deale Elks Lodge 2528. In her spare time, Carol enjoyed playing Bingo, snacking on her daily pretzels and Pepsi, fishing, crabbing, reading, entertaining at her home, NASCAR and going to turkey shoots. Carol is survived by her husband of 42 years, Fred Hodges; her children, Fred Hodges, Jr. (Danielle) of Harwood and Samantha Hodges of Churchton; her grandson, Devin Franklin; her mother, Carol McClelland of Florence, SC; and her special grand dog Dixie. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert McClelland. Family and friends are invited to Carol’s life celebration on Saturday, May 6 from 5-8 PM at Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Rt. 3 North, Gambrills, MD 21054.
