Caroline Marie Burrows - Obituary

aroline “Lena” Marie Burrows, 93, a 38-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Washington, D.C. died on September 4, 2009 at her home in Edgewater, MD. Born January 19, 1916 in Washington, D.C., she enjoyed bird watching outside of her window, watching people jog and walking in her neighborhood, loved flowers and spending time with her grandkids. She was the devoted wife of Charles F. Burrows, who died in 1975; mother of Louis Burrows of Edgewater, MD, Carolyn Bigelow of Grasonville, MD and Bette Jane “Bj” Lewis of Edgewater, MD; she is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Charles Burrows, Jr.; her grandson, Bryce Lewis; her siblings Amelia Mott and Carl Ercoli. Friends are invited to Lena's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, September 9 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, where services will be held on Thursday at 11am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD.
