aroline "Carol" Ballard Johnson Caroline Ballard Johnson, "Carol", 72, a 46-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Kansas City, KS, passed away on February 16, 2015 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness. Born on November 15, 1942 in Kansas City Kansas to the late Charles and Martha Hart, Carol grew up on a farm. Carol was a Girl Scout leader and tried to live by the Girl Scout Promise. She enjoyed sewing and loved animals; but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Johnson; who died in 2004, her son Shawn Watkinson, her daughter Scarlett Hedges; two brothers, Edwin "Bud " Hart and Charles Hart, three sisters; Nevalee Hart, Nancy Wilson and Alice Eisen. Carol is survived by her two sons, Terry Watkinson of Kent Island, MD and Mike Ballard of Arnold, MD, two sisters, Ruth Shane and Virginia Fawcett, both of Kansas and six grandchildren; Terry and Daniel Watkinson, Brandon and Allison Ballard and Nevalee and Nichole Hedges. Friends may call on Friday, February 20 from 5 to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 9am.
