Carolyn Gronlund Waesche - Obituary

urrounded by her family, Carolyn Gronlund Waesche, 82, of Annapolis, MD, went home to be with the Lord, on March 30, 2021, ending her courageous fight against pancreatic cancer. Born on January 17, 1939 in Washington, DC to the late Gustav and Margaret Gronlund, Carolyn attended high school in Suitland, MD, where she grew up. She married her high school sweetheart, Earl M. Waesche, on February 28, 1959. They were married for 62 years and were godparents to their nephew, Thomas C. Waesche and niece, Elizabeth Waesche Garner. Carolyn worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Defense Intelligence Agency and the United States Census Bureau. Carolyn and Earl lived in Clinton, MD, before moving to Annapolis, MD in 1993. Carolyn was a member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Annapolis, MD. Carolyn enjoyed sewing as well as traveling and boating with Earl. They traveled all over the world but her favorite place to visit was Cancun, Mexico. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 10 at 12:30pm at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, 1120 Spa Road, Annapolis, MD, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Dave Oravec. It was Carolyn’s wishes to be cremated and after the service she will be interred in to the columbarium at St. Martin’s.
