Carroll "Rusty" Winterson Hardesty, Jr. - Obituary

arroll “Rusty” Winterson Hardesty Jr. was born in Annapolis, Maryland, on July 27, 1952, to Carroll and Leona (Dove) Hardesty. He passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2026, surrounded by his family. Rusty was an entrepreneur at heart and the owner/operator of CW Hardesty Custom Builders since 1972. He took great pride in his work and was known for his craftsmanship, strong work ethic, and dedication to every project he undertook. He lived a life defined by devotion to his family, hard work, and friendship. Known for his kindness, sense of humor, and willingness to help anyone in need, he touched the lives of all who knew him and will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, Rusty was preceded in death by his brother, Chris Hardesty. He is survived by Cynthia, his loving wife of 52 years; their son, Steven (Jen); five grandsons, Eli, Max, Ben, Fritz, and Oliver; and his brothers, Dale and Mark Hardesty. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rusty’s life on Friday, June 12 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD, where his funeral service will be held the following day, Saturday, June 13 at 11 am.
