Catherine May Daywalt - Obituary

atherine M. Daywalt, “Kelly or Katsie”, 94, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, MD, passed away on December 13, 2020 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. Born on September 23, 1926 to the late Bernard and Gertrude Kelly, Catherine graduated from Annapolis High School in 1943 and worked as a waitress at Fred’s Restaurant for many years. Catherine was a member of Eastport United Methodist Church and collected snow babies, snowmen and angels. She had angels in every room of her house. In her younger years, Catherine enjoyed going to the beach in Ocean City and she loved feeding her squirrels and birds. In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Charles H. Daywalt; a son, Wayne Daywalt; and her siblings, Bernard and Marguerite Kelly. She is survived by her children, Richard Daywalt of Glen Burnie, MD and Charleen Nichols of Kent Island, MD; her siblings, Clausen Kelly of Arnold, MD and Elizabeth of Hagerstown, MD; her granddaughters, Crystal Daywalt and Melissa Koubik and five great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Catherine’s life on Sunday, December 20 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD where her funeral service will be held on Monday, December 21 at 11am.
