Catherine R. Dixon - Obituary

atherine Rose “Kitty” Dixon, 88, a resident of Edgewater, MD, died on Sunday, December 13 at her home, surrounded by her family. Born on July 5, 1932 in Arlington, VA to the late John and Mabel Martin, Kitty began her career working for the federal government. Later in life, she began working as a realtor. Kitty was a former member of Parkwood United Methodist Church and a current member of Mayo United Methodist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed golfing, reading, crossword puzzles, spending time in Ocean City and Florida, and in her younger years, she liked to water ski. Kitty was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Claude Leroy Dixon; her son, Steve LeBow and her brother, Ray Martin. She is survived by her children, Bert LeBow and Janet Ward both of Edgewater, MD, Gail LeBow of Easton, MD and Beverly Hanners of Owings, MD; her grandchildren, Richie and Michael Ward, Eric and Amber LeBow, Morgan Hanners, Brenda Oppong, Katie Ward Auld, Amy Dick and Ann Newton and her great-grandchildren, Zachary, Brendan, Kathryn, RJ, Maddox, Brayden, Rilyn, Jacob, Jeremy, Hattie, Braden, Lydia, Grayson and Liam. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Catherine's life on Thursday, December 17th from 12pm until her funeral service begins at 1 pm at the Mayo United Methodist Church, 1005 Old Turkey Point Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Maryland, 1850 York Rd., Ste.
