Catherine Dustan - Obituary

atherine Clark Dustan, 60, Accokeek On Friday, October 19, 2012, Catherine “Cathy” Clark Dustan passed away peacefully in her home in Accokeek, Maryland. Cathy was born on February 2, 1952 in Washington, DC and moved to Oxon Hill in September of 1955 where she lived until her marriage to the late Blake Dustan on October 5, 1985. Cathy remained in Accokeek until the time of her death. She attended Holy Comforter Catholic School, John Hanson Junior High, and was a member of Class of 1970 of Oxon Hill High School. Following high school, Cathy attended Prince George’s Community College where she graduated with a degree in nursing in 1978. Her career included a myriad of hospitals; most notably Hadley Memorial and Columbia Hospital for Women where she specialized as a NICU nurse. Cathy was the devoted mother of James, Melanie, Katelyn, and the late Daniel Dustan; grandmother of Malachi Dustan and Gabrielle Canter; sister of Judy Clark; and daughter of the late James “Nap” and Carrie Clark. She also leaves her devoted best friend of many years, Nikita Daniels, and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012, at Faith United Methodist Church, 15769 Livingston Road Accokeek, MD 20607, at 9:30 am. Funeral Service will begin following the viewing at 10:30 am. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the MS Society or donations to the family would be appreciated. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
