Catherine Puccia - Obituary

atherine S. Puccia Date of Passing: May 4, 2009 Catherine S. “Kay” Puccia, 77, a resident of Annapolis for 25 years and previously of Conn., died May 4 at her residence after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born March 11, 1932, in Newport News, Va. She graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.A. in English. Kay was an elementary school teacher and a past president of the Panhellenic Club of Annapolis. She enjoyed playing tennis in her spare time. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Puccia, whom she married Sept. 11, 1954; three sons, David Puccia of Kinnelon, N.J., Peter Puccia of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mark Puccia of Ramsey, N.J.; one brother, Conway Sheild of Newport News, Va.; two sisters, Letty Best and Betty Scates, both of Yorktown, Va.; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9 at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Church Circle, Annapolis. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., 1850 York Rd., Ste. D, Timonium, MD 21093.
