Catherine Lynn Swears - Obituary

n Monday, January 1, 2018, Catherine Lynn Swears of Edgewater passed away at her home. Cathy was born on August 1, 1952 in Utah to Phillip and Helen Snyder. She was a graduate of DuVal High School. Cathy worked for Northrop Grumman for over 40 years as a pricing analyst. She enjoyed taking cruises, playing slots especially in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, and was an avid Redskins, Orioles, and Wizards fan. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, David Swears, and her mother, Helen Peterson. She is survived by her father, Phillip Snyder and his wife Dottie; her children, David (Kellie) Swears of Pasadena, Sarah (Alex West) Swears of Edgewater, and Heather (Bobby) LoBianco of Edgewater; her siblings, Mark Snyder, Joseph Snyder, Chris Cornelius, Kim Swears, Karen Conner, Traci Rauck, and Brandy Cornelius; six grandchildren, Callan Swears, Kiera West, Caitlin Kocher, Robby LoBianco, Lilly LoBianco, and Whitney LoBianco ; and two great-grandchildren, Mya Robles and J.J. Kocher. Friends are invited to celebrate Cathy's life on Thursday, January 4 from 6 - 8 PM and Friday, January 5 at 11 AM until a funeral service begins at 12 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
