ecilia “Ya†Mary Hayden, 83, a 56-year resident of Annapolis, MD died on February 16, 2010 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
On May 2, 1926, Cecilia was born and raised in Washington, D.C. A graduate of Eastern High School she was a homemaker most of her life. Cecilia's memberships included Catholic Daughters of America, Hillsmere Shores Garden Club, Den Mother in the Cub Scouts for her boys and a member and 4 time President of the Ladies of the Knights. She enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking and shopping. Cecilia's greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was the beloved wife of Paul Cecil Hayden, Sr., whom she married on September 20, 1947; mother of Sharon P. Brown of Hollywood, MD, Debbie Zeller of York, PA, Paul C. Hayden, Jr. of Huntingtown, MD, John G. Hayden of St. Leonard, MD, Michael A. Hayden of Gambrills, MD and Colleen Mitsopoulos of Arnold, MD; sister of Eileen Moore of Annapolis, MD, Teresa Lawrence of Abell, MD and the late Helen Ball, Charlotte Jackson, Tudi Higgins, Frannie Beitzell and Buck, Juggy and Hop Battenfield. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Cecilia's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday, February 19 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, February 20 at 11am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
