Cecilia A. Wright - Obituary

ecilia “Ann” Wright, 75, of Annapolis, MD passed away at her home on January 3, 2023, after an 8-year battle with Alzheimer’s. Born on November 4, 1947, in Baltimore to the late Walter H. Thomas (1986) and Mary E. Thomas (1982), Ann attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. She later went on to have a career with Anne Arundel Food Service at Central Special Education School for 23 years. Ann enjoyed crocheting, but most of all loved spending time with her family and friends. Ann was one of a kind. She was the pillar of her family and would be the first to jump in and help anyone in need. She is very loved, and so very missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, William “Roy” Wright; sister, Mary E. Trott (2002) of Annapolis; and granddaughter, Diana Tolson (2005). She is survived by her son, Thomas (Donna) Wright of Glen Burnie; daughter, Sharon Kelley of Annapolis; brother, William “Billy” Thomas of Millington; sister, Audrey (Jim) Dewey of Ocala, FL; grandsons, Bradley Swift of Annapolis and William Wright of Glen Burnie; granddaughter, Carrie (James) Simpson of Annapolis; and great-grandson, Kenny Good III. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ann's life on Sunday, January 8 from 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD, and again on Monday, January 9 from 10 am until her funeral service begins at 11 am. Interment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.act.alz.org).
