harles Frederick Fetterman "Charlie", 85, a resident of Richmond, VA for the past year and previously of Edgewater, MD for more than 27 years, died on July 2, 2016, in Richmond, VA.
Born on September 15, 1930, in Flemington, PA to the late Joseph F. and Pearl Garnhart Fetterman, Charlie graduated from high school and then served on active duty for five years in the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed at McGuire Air Force Base in Fort Dix, NJ. He then served for 20 more years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Charlie also worked for the Government Printing Office, retiring in 1991. He was preceded in death by his wife Juliette Marie Fetterman whom he married on February 13, 1950, and who died on July 28, 2014. He was also predeceased by his brother, Joseph R. Fetterman; his sister, Shirley Myers; his half brothers, Storres C. and George A. Winters.
He is survived by his son, Vincent J. Fetterman and his wife, Dawn of Shady Side, MD; his daughters, Diane M. Rice and her husband, Mike of Leesburg, VA and Debra L. Cook and her husband, Barry of Edgewater, MD; his grandchildren, Douglas A. Cook and his wife, Kirsten and Tracy L. Palmer and her husband, KC; and four great-grandchildren, all of Edgewater, MD.
A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 11:30am on Thursday, July 14 at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
