harles "Chuck" August Golch, 72, died at his home in Davidsonville on July 5, 2012.
Born September 25, 1939 in Wheeling, WV to the late Stanley Charles and Rose Golch, he was a former Wheeling Police Officer and Director of Safety and Security for Branch Electric. Chuck achieved his lifelong dream as a high school football coach at South River High School with Coach Summey and the late Coach Henne. He was a member and Associate Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bowie. Other memberships included the Wheeling Elks Lodge and Wheeling FOP Lodge.
He was the beloved husband of Ruby Golch; father of Debbie (John) Persinger of Proctor, WV, Donna (Gary) Affagato of New Bedford, PA, Chuck (Lexi) Golch of Federalsburg and Courtney (Kevin) McHale of Davidsonville; grandfather of Corey, Joshua, Justin, Lynn, Carrie, Logan, Sami, Brandon, Emily, Ruby, Morgan, Nikki, Joey, Annie and the late Nicholas; great grandfather of Grace; and brother of Rosalie (Bill) Schoenfeld of Dayton, OH.
Friends are invited to Chuck's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Sunday from 4 to 7pm. A funeral service will be held at 6600 Laurel Bowie Road, Bowie on Monday, July 9 at 10am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
