Charles L. Gomez, 78, a 40-year resident of Annapolis died November 6 at his home of natural causes. Born on October 6, 1934 in Denver, CO, Charles served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 20 years. He was also a yacht broker in the Annapolis area for more than 20 years.
 
Charles enjoyed snow skiing and sailing. He was a member of the Eastport Yacht Club and Past Commodore of the Annapolis Naval Sailing Association.
 
Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Gomez. He is survived by his wife, Denise Hanna-Gomez whom he married in 2004; one son, Michael (Joy) Gomez of Severna Park; four daughters, Cheri (Mark) Dickens of St. Petersburg, FL, Jackie, Molly and Emily Hanna of Annapolis; two sisters, Carmen Moreno of Denver, CO and Dee Conaty of Michigan and three grandchildren, Christopher and David Dickens and Marie Johnson-Gomez.
 
Friends are invited to Charles’ Life Celebration from 7 until 9 p.m. on Friday, November 9 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9AM on Saturday, November 10 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis. Interment private. Annapolis Yacht Sales has established College Investment Plans for Emily and Jacqueline Hanna. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to, Maryland College Investment Plan, c/o Tim Wilbricht, Annapolis Yacht Sales, 7350 Edgewood Rd., Annapolis, MD 21403.
