harles Edward Howard, “Chuck†to his friends and “Eddie†to his family, was born January 6, 1929 in Baltimore, MD and lived in Annapolis the final years of his life. Making a career with the US Navy, he and his family lived in many places around the United States. He retired after 20 years of active duty and completed another 20 plus years as a civilian working in Crystal City, Va. Chuck met his wife in a bowling center and the two of them made bowling a family tradition. Chuck served as the President of the Western Chesapeake Bay Young American Bowling Alliance, Director for the Greater Baltimore Bowling Association, was a certified lane inspector and coach. He is predeceased by his wife Doris, father Luther Elmer Howard, mother Mary Parr and brother Bobby Howard. He is survived by his siblings Jim, Tommy and Jack Howard; children Dean Edward Howard, Denise Millett and Doreen Shahan; six grandchildren, John Charles and David Yepsen, Shannon Yepsen Taylor, Dean Howard, Sumner and Michael Shahan; and two great grandsons Dylan Taylor and Patrick Edward Yepsen. The family will be receiving friends at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 122 Bayard Road Lothian, MD 20711 on Saturday, October 10th from 2-3 with the memorial service immediately following in the church sanctuary.
