harles Herman Kamm “Buck:, age 88, a resident of Upper Marlboro for forty five years and previously of Capitol Heights died on April 5 at Fairfield Nursing Home in Crownsville. Born on December 21, 1924 in Washington, D.C. to the late Charles A. and Ruth Irene Kamm, Buck served as a Seaman First Class aboard LST 529 Ships in the U.S. Navy during World War II and fought in the invasion of Normandy. He owned and operated the Charles H. Kamm Plumbing and Heating Co. of Upper Marlboro and was a master plumber, master gasfitter, master Mason and a former councilman in Capitol Heights. In addition to his parents Buck was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie Kamm on September 11, 1994, they were married on September 5, 1944; two brothers, John A. Kamm and Ben Gover and a sister, Irene Lazard. He is survived by his sons, Charles H. Kamm, Jr. of Bishopville, Frank A. Kamm of Sudlersville and William B. Kamm of Edgewater; daughters, Mary E. Cox of Upper Marlboro and Ruth A. Youngling of Kent Narrows; sister, Virginia K. Anderson of Edgewater; grandsons, James D. Kamm of Davidsonville, Charles A. Kamm of Edgewater, Jason C. Harrington of Chesapeake Beach, Frank A. Kamm of Sudlersville, William M. Kamm of San Diego, CA, William B. Kamm, II and Alexander R. Kamm both of Edgewater; granddaughters, Melissa A. Chick of Edgewater, Nicole M. Bena of Clarksville, Melanie E. Quinn of Davidsonville, Heather A. Bryant of Murrells Inlet, SC, Holly K. Wahl of Churchton and Kimberly R. Cummings of Hurlock and nineteen great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Buck’s Life Celebration from 10:00 am until his funeral service begins at 12:00pm on Tuesday, April 9 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 4 Wallace Manor Rd., Edgewater.
